LESSON 9: ASSIGNMENT 2 THE SUFFRAGISTS AND THE SUFFRAGETTES

One element of the civil unrest during the Edwardian and Georgian period was the fight for women's suffrage, with an emphasis on fight.  We start Assignment 2 with a look at the issue of women's suffrage and the long hard battle by women (and men too) to finally win the right to vote.

My great-grandma was a suffragette and our family still have her rosettes and badges.  Again, one more example of family histories running parallel with grand narratives.  Manchester also plays a part in  this story.
